Blind Draft: better after week one

After the first live week of Blind Draft, your feedback helped us make picks more reliable, outcomes clearer and battles easier to follow. Updated with this morning’s draft reveal, Battle HQ and league table improvements.

Fairer draft resolutionClearer pick explanationsMore scoring insight
01

Clear rules for Power Up clashes

Draft Power Ups now resolve in a fixed, repeatable order when both managers use them.

  • That includes Guaranteed First Pick versus Full Draft Reversal, plus other draft modifiers, so conflicting effects are handled consistently.
02

More reliable draft picks

We tightened how rankings and team rules work together after investigating a valid first-choice player being skipped.

  • The fix prevents avoidable lower-ranked picks from GW5 onwards. Completed teams and historical results stay as played.
03

Long team names line up neatly

Longer names now wrap cleanly in draft and battle views.

  • Both sides’ scores and Power Up details stay aligned, including on smaller screens.
04

Understand why you missed a player

Draft outcomes now explain more clearly why a player was not selected or allocated to your team.

  • See how competing picks, Power Ups and team requirements affected the result.
05

See how your missed picks scored

Undrafted players now show their scores too.

  • Follow how the players who missed your final five performed and use that insight for your next draft.
06

A draft result we can explain

We strengthened the checks across rankings, draft Power Ups, clash priority and club and position rules.

  • A consistent resolution order makes outcomes repeatable and easier to trace when a pick needs investigating.
07

Watch your draft unfold

The new reveal shows Power Ups first, animates genuine coin-flip clashes and unveils both teams side by side.

  • Skip straight to the teams, explore missed-pick explanations or replay completed drafts—including GW4. Replays show the saved outcome; they never reroll your team.
08

A quicker, clearer Battle HQ

Battle HQ does less repeat loading, making completed battles quicker to revisit.

  • A loading indicator now appears when you switch leagues, matchups or Gameweeks. Live battle scores continue to refresh as before.
09

League points at a glance

The dashboard now opens with a compact table showing Manager, Played, Points and Form, with less space beside names.

  • Switch between Compact and Full views. The linked league page also shows wins, draws, losses, points for and against, and difference, with Points kept near the left.

Your team is now decided by Blind Draft

There is no live draft room and no fixed time when everyone must be online. Any time before the Gameweek deadline, privately choose ten players from the draft pool and rank them from first choice to tenth.

  1. 01
    Build your priority list

Pick exactly ten candidates, arrange them in your preferred order and lock when you are happy.

  2. 02
    Draft against each opponent

Your one private list is resolved separately against each upcoming league opponent, so the five you receive can differ by matchup.

  3. 03
    Priority settles clashes

The higher-ranked claim normally wins. Equal priorities use a deterministic coin flip, while team-safety and any active draft Power Up can change a contested outcome.

  4. 04
    Reveal your exclusive five

At the deadline, both managers receive legal teams with no shared player. Refreshing the page cannot reroll the result.

Draft board10 players · 8+ clubsExactly 2 GK; at least 2 DEF, 2 MID and 2 FWD; no more than 2 from one club.

Scout smarter. Play with better data.

Manager Scout is the other major addition in this update, joined by current-club transfer fixes, Battle HQ improvements and Quick Match.

01

Manager Scout is open

Learn how your rivals play from their completed battles—without exposing anyone’s current plans.

  • Scout pages show battle record, average and high scores, recent form, favourite formation, trusted players, clubs and Power Ups.
  • Only finalised history is used. Current teams, draft rankings and unrevealed Power Ups stay private.
02

Transferred players stay available

Players who move between Premier League clubs are now mapped to their current club correctly.

  • The new club is recognised as the player’s current club in future pickers and Blind Draft pools.
  • Their earlier club history and established fantasy position remain intact, preventing a transfer from making the player unavailable or misclassified.
03

Battle HQ is easier to revisit

Upcoming, live and completed battles now sit in a clearer Gameweek journey.

  • Use the Gameweek selector to move between upcoming matchups and saved final results without losing your league context.
  • Mobile Power Up panels and pre-match battle previews have been tightened so important details remain readable on smaller screens.
04

Quick Match keeps you playing

Managers without a private league can still enter the GW4 Blind Draft and receive a head-to-head battle.

  • Lock the same ten-player ranking and Power Up before the deadline; Rivals pairs ready managers automatically.
  • If the ready pool is odd, the remaining manager faces Rivals XI rather than missing the Gameweek.

Gameweek 2 fixes and improvements

View 6 notes

Scoring corrections, more reliable live battles, historical results and clearer season streaks delivered around Gameweek 2.

01

Own goals now score correctly

Own goals are now included throughout Rivals scoring and finalisation.

  • Each own goal deducts 2 points from the player’s score.
  • The deduction appears in the player breakdown and is retained when the Gameweek is finalised.
02

Missed penalties now score correctly

The missing penalty-miss deduction has been restored across live and final scores.

  • Each missed penalty deducts 2 points from the player’s score.
  • Penalty misses now appear clearly in the player’s scoring breakdown.
03

Friday’s live-battle timeouts are fixed

We corrected the loading issue that prevented some live battles from opening on Friday.

  • Battle Headquarters and the wider Rivals navigation now load gameplay data more reliably during busy live periods.
  • Returning to an in-progress battle continues to catch up with the latest available scores.
04

Historical battles are now available

Completed Gameweeks can now be reopened directly from Battle Headquarters.

  • Use the Gameweek selector to revisit the final battle from any available completed round.
  • Historical views preserve both teams, final scores, player breakdowns and Power Ups; completed byes retain your lineup and score.
05

Winning streaks now stay within one league

Results from different leagues are no longer combined into one artificial streak.

  • Current and longest winning streaks are calculated separately for every league before your best is selected.
  • Season stats name the relevant league. Bye weeks neither add to a streak nor bring it to an end.
06

The selection preview became Blind Draft

The more varied selection approach previewed after GW2 is now the GW4 Blind Draft.

  • Private ten-player rankings and opponent-specific allocations create more meaningful choices and reduce identical teams.
  • The featured announcement above contains the live rules, timing and links to the complete strategy guide.

Post-GW1 patches and enhancements

View 4 notes

The weekly journey, multi-league dashboard and progression improvements delivered after Gameweek 1.

01

Every new Gameweek is ready automatically

Selection now progresses into the next open Gameweek without being tied to a specific round.

  • The dashboard and Battle Headquarters always use the canonical open Selection Gameweek and its real deadline.
  • The previous locked Gameweek can remain available in Battle Centre while the next team is prepared.
  • From Gameweek 2 onwards, every team must contain five players from five different clubs.
  • Unavailable players are identified earlier, with a specific explanation for the position, club or squad limit.
02

A smoother team and Power Up journey

Your team remains editable until you deliberately reveal and lock the Power Up draw.

  • Battle Headquarters keeps Pick Team, Power Up and Battle together as one clear journey.
  • The main reveal and confirmation actions stay close to the top so less scrolling is needed.
  • Power Up reveal and lock wording is clearer, larger and easier to follow.
  • Full House shows each player’s minutes and highlights anyone below the 60-minute condition.
03

Multi-league dashboard and battles

Managers can now move cleanly between every league without losing their weekly team.

  • Dashboard and Battle Centre switching uses real leagues, opponents, fixtures and bye weeks.
  • Multiple live battles and upcoming fixtures are grouped into clear views and carousels.
  • Standings use a scrollable full table, plain Score values and up to five completed results in Form.
  • One weekly five-player team and Power Up continues to feed every applicable league battle.
04

Season stats and fairer progression

Finalised results now unlock useful season numbers and league bragging rights.

  • Average score, win rate, best score, favourite formation and current winning streak refresh after finalisation.
  • League honours recognise the highest weekly score, most wins and longest winning streak, including ties.
  • Future bye distribution is balanced more fairly across managers.
  • Automatic finalisation and weekly progression are more resilient once football performances settle.

Launch-night fixes

View 5 notes

Fixture, live-scoring and Battle Centre fixes delivered during Gameweek 1.

01

League fixtures you can trust

Every locked league now resolves to one clear weekly state for each manager.

  • Round-robin fixtures were audited and repaired so managers have one valid opponent or one genuine bye.
  • Odd-sized leagues allow exactly one bye in a round; even-sized leagues have none.
  • Battle Centre and the dashboard now agree on the selected league, opponent and bye status.
  • Invalid placeholder or fallback opponents can no longer appear in a real league battle.
02

A clearer Battle Centre

Battle Centre now follows the real locked teams and makes the whole league easier to explore.

  • Your opponent is always the manager paired with you in the selected league fixture.
  • Bye weeks still show your complete team and live score, alongside a clearer, friendlier bye explanation.
  • You can browse every other battle in your selected league without mixing in fixtures from another league.
  • Score tiles open the full battle, including both lineups, player points and Power Ups.
03

Live football that feels live

Player scores and match states now move throughout the game instead of waiting for full time.

  • Playing any minutes awards 1 point immediately, with the additional 2 points added at 60 minutes.
  • Clean-sheet points appear while the clean sheet is active and are removed if the team concedes.
  • Small indicators show whether a player is on the pitch, on the bench or has been substituted.
  • Battle Centre refreshes during live matches and catches up when you return to the tab.
04

Stronger live-data protection

A delayed or malformed provider record can no longer freeze the rest of a match.

  • Valid player updates continue even if one provider player/team record is unusable.
  • When detailed player statistics lag, provisional minutes follow the live match clock and substitution events.
  • Official provider statistics remain the final authority and can correct provisional values after the match.
  • Additional checks and regression tests now protect the live import and scoring path.
05

Power Ups are easier to follow

The players affected by a Power Up stay visible before, during and after their fixtures.

  • Affected player cards now carry the Power Up border and glow even before bonus points are earned.
  • Targeted Power Ups highlight the chosen player; position-based Power Ups highlight every eligible player.
  • The display separates a Power Up that is in play from bonus points already earned.
  • Power Up totals and player-level contributions continue updating with live scoring.
